Best Cities to live in India – Hyderabad and Pune!

Mercer recently published its 21st Quality of Living Ranking earlier this year in 2019. Hyderabad and Pune have been named as the best Indian cities to live in!

The factors taken in to evaluate cities includes housing, consumer goods availability, economic environment, public services and transport, natural environment, school, education, medical and health, recreation and socio economic environment just to name a few. The ranking indicated the quality of living factors affecting expatriates and assignees in popular relocation countries.

Not only is the cost of living in Hyderabad affordable, but it is also an Indian city with great potential. The IT industry has seen a boom with companies and various support services cropping up in the Gachibowli area. Amazon recently inaugurated its largest campus in India in Hyderabad in Hi-Tech city that will house about 15,000 employees.

The expat network in Pune is extensive. The city hosts a large number of tech and automotive companies as well as start-ups. In 2014, Pune was rated as the number 2 developing tech hub in the world by Transferwise.

The Mercer study looked into 231 cities in the world and surveyed them for their ease with workforce mobility and employee relocation. Hyderabad and Pune together ranked at 143, New Delhi at 162, Mumbai at 154 and Bengaluru at 149th place. The safest city in India is Chennai with a global ranking of 105 in that category.

Globally, Vienna tops the ranking for the 10th year running, closely followed by Zurich, the runner-up. Luxembourg was named the safest city in the world to live in.
